EARLY LITERACY (K8)

WHAT IS EARLY LITERACY? Early Literacy is a measure of students’ reading in early elementary grades. While Early Literacy is not factored into school accountability calculations and does not receive points or a rating, reading on grade level by the end of third grade is a strong predictor of future academic success. Acadience Reading is a benchmark reading assessment given to Utah students in early grades. These data show the percentage of students reading on grade level and making typical or better progress by the end of first, second, and third grade.
