College and Career Readiness

Ben Lomond High School has created College and Career Pathways in aerospace, construction, CAD mechanical, broadcasting and digital media, engineering, welding and machining, interior design, computer science, culinary arts, food science, education, personal services, health science, hospitality, business, auto mechanics and diesel that help match education and workplace needs. Through partnerships with postsecondary institutions, business, and industry. Pathways identify and group courses within Career and Technical Education (CTE) areas of study that offer students depth of knowledge and skill, linked with specific postsecondary programs culminating in degrees or certificates and job placement through the CTE Internship Course. In a close partnership with the Ogden Weber Technical college, students who are completing our Aerospace and AM STEM programs are eligible to participate in industry internships (Utah Aerospace Pathways) that lead to high demand high wage employment with connections to post secondary employment. Ben Lomond is committ4ed to creating career pathways with multiple entry and exit points that allow students to pursue work opportunities and access to stackable credentials that lead to a college degree. Partners include Parker Aerospace, Boeing, Fresenius, Albany, Autoliv, Ogden Weber Tech College, Davis Applied Tech College, and Weber State University.

Growth and Success For Every Student

Ben Lomond High School is committed to creating equitable educational opportunities for every student. Multi-language learners participate in a rigorous program that includes academic stations, college and career tours, public speaking opportunities, project based learning, along with career skills such as CPR classes, food handlers permit preparation, job interviewing skills, college applications, money management and interpersonal skills. The success of the Ben Lomond MLL program can be measured by the participation and growth of the Latinos in Action program and graduates obtaining their Seal of Bi-Literacy. The Latinos in Action program at Ben Lomond High School consists of 76 members who average a grade point average of 3.23. This group also participated in 1,718 total service hours during the 2019-2020 school year. The graduating class included 27 student who obtained their Seal of Bi-literacy.
