Teacher and Student Retention Rates
Ogden Preparatory Academy has very high teacher and student retention rates. OPA’s teacher retention rate is 84.21% compared to a statewide rate of 78%. OPA’s student retention rate is 96.33%. OPA’s student retention rate has been above 86% for the last 6 years, while the average charter student retention rate for Utah was 79.8% in 2022.

Leadership and Character Development
Ogden Preparatory Academy focuses on developing students’ leadership capacity and individual characters. Several key programs are implemented to facilitate this individual growth. These programs include: AVID schoolwide embeds a post high school education culture throughout the school; AVID goals include: To prepare students for career and college readiness To provide students extra support to reach their goal of getting into college. Encourages students to do hard things. Builds self reliance, agency, and community. Latinos In Action focuses on Leadership development and cultural exposure to Latino culture. LIA students create partnerships with elementary schools and provide reading tutoring. There are various leadership roles with LIA, and academic excellence as students have a course contract with grade requirements. A large component is community service. Junior High Student Council National Junior Honor Society; Recognizing Academic Excellence for Junior High students Elementary Leadership Teams Leader in Me focuses on Leadership, Culture, and Academics. Expeditionary Learning gives students experiences outside the classroom and beyond their home circles of influence.
