BONNEVILLE SCHOOL

SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

PARENT & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Celebrating Students

Celebrating students and their accomplishments is important. When students know how to be successful and their success is celebrated they begin to work toward goals. Even more important, they know they matter and we will celebrate them. This is the foundation of a strong learning community. Bonneville Elementary implemented monthly student celebrations with a focus on Scholarship, Leadership & Moral Excellence. Each month brought a new focus, discussed in morning announcements and taught in daily classroom lessons. At the end of each month, classroom peers had an opportunity to reflect on criteria for student of the month and then nominate their peers. Parents were notified and were encouraged to celebrate their students in a whole school assembly. We look forward to continued celebrations in the 23-24 school year.

SCHOOL-LEVEL FACTORS

Positive Behavior Support System

A strength for Bonneville Elementary has been helping students feel welcome and successful in their daily interactions. During the 2022-2023 school year, a school wide Positive Behavior Support System was implemented in every classroom. Students received individual points for demonstrating school wide rules: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. Students were able to spend half of their points towards rewards from the school store and the other half of their points towards their classroom stores. The school store contained prizes such as fun pencils, books and even a lunch date with the principal. The 6th grade students had the opportunity, during the last quarter, to save their points towards a trip to Lagoon that happened at the end of the school year. Parents have access to their child’s awards accounts, helping to stay connected with the school and their child’s learning.
