SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

EQUITABLE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

MYP Candidacy Creates Opportunity for All

During the 2023-24 school year, Mount Ogden is in the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school, in our second year of candidacy for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are excited for where the MYP will take our students today and in the future. All Mount Ogden students benefit from this transformational programme. Through inquiry, students are guided and nurtured to become critical, creative, reflective learners, and to make connections from their classes and learning to real world situations. Mount Ogden teachers collaborate within their own grade level/curricular groups and across subject areas as well, in order to ensure rigorous, inquiry-based learning in every classroom. Mount Ogden students will be growing in skill, understanding, and knowledge that will help prepare them for global participation and leadership. As part of these opportunities, all students at MOJH will have access to a balanced and inclusive education, including learning a second language, engaging in an excellent Fine Arts program, and participating in transdisciplinary learning. The Middle Years Programme at MOJH is a portion of the K-12 IB pathway available at Ogden School District, the only complete IB pathway in the state of Utah. We are grateful for this opportunity to create the structure and systems for all students to have access to rigorous learning and future success.
