SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

SCHOOL-LEVEL FACTORS

Individualized Programming

George Washington High School serves credit and skill deficient students in Ogden School District. By design, GWHS maintains small class sizes and focuses on creating the ideal learning platform for each student. While no two students are alike, no pathway towards graduation is the same. Student learning and progress are made visible through graduation trackers, Portrait of a Graduate portfolios, and daily Advisory classes. GWHS Staff commit collaborative time at the beginning and end of each day to monitor student progress and increase the school's responsiveness to fluctuating student needs. Every GWHS student has a post-secondary transition plan and goal. George Washington High School is successful because we believe in each other and in each student. By building relationships with each student, we can not only create a unique learning plan meeting the needs of each learner, but we can work creatively to break down every barrier and design sustaining plans for overcoming barriers to success.
