SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS

Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.

SCHOOL-LEVEL FACTORS

Developing Leaders

Our school is a Leader in Me school. We encourage personal leadership as scholars learn about Covey’s 8 Habits, set personal goals, and strive to be bucket fillers. Our scholars lead school, class, and parent meetings. Our vision is that ALL scholars can set goals and achieve them. Scholars regularly set personal Wildly Important Goals (WIGS), share their WIGS with teachers and parents, track their progress toward reaching the WIG, and work hard to achieve them. We also set, track, and meet schoolwide WIGS. During the 23-24 school year, scholars set the goal to “synergize to read 3,000,000 minutes by the end of the year. They achieved this WIG by the end of April. We believe and live the paradigm that everyone can be a leader!

INSTRUCTIONAL FACTORS

Science of Reading Trained

To increase Literacy in our school, all K-6 teachers, coaches, and administration have completed or are in the process of completing LETRS training. This professional learning has helped our teachers become literacy and language experts. This intense training in the Science of Reading has given our teachers the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of all scholars. Our teachers are implementing the new training into their reading instruction and seeing progress in helping scholars become proficient readers.
