SELF-REPORTED INDICATORS
Schools may choose to describe up to two additional pieces of information about how their school is supporting students. These self-reported indicators are not factored into school accountability calculations but provide the opportunity for schools to highlight successful programs or practices in addition to the indicators included in school accountability.
PARENT & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Parent Participation at Student-Led Conferences
We are committed to fostering strong partnerships with our students' parents to ensure student success. We are proud to report that 94% of families at Venture High School and 91% at Venture K-8 participated in 2023-24 Student-Led Parent Conferences. “Student-led” is in contrast to teacher-led parent conferences. This difference provides students a more active role in discussing their academic progress with their parents thus facilitating deeper family involvement in understanding their child's academic journey. The high parent participation rate is a direct result of our students' enthusiasm in preparing and inviting their parents. This form of conferencing has also resulted in increased parent connection and understanding of the broader school community supporting their students. In short, the high participation rate reflects the commitment of our families, the relevance of student-led conferencing, and the importance of preparing our students to be stakeholders in their own education.
STUDENT FACTORS
VHS Students Outperform Averages in AP Exams
Venture has demonstrated remarkable academic success across several AP subjects, with outstanding performance that surpasses both state and global averages. In AP Biology, our students achieved a notable 77.8% passing rate, significantly outpacing the Utah average of 69.5% and the global average of 68.3%. This success demonstrates their understanding of biological principles and ability to engage in scientific inquiry. In AP Psychology, our students achieved a strong 71.4% passing rate, surpassing both Utah’s 69.1% and the global average of 61.7%. This achievement highlights their proficiency in comprehending complex psychological theories and applying them in practical contexts. Lastly, in AP US Government and Politics, our students excelled with an 80% success rate, far surpassing the global average of 73.0%. This impressive performance highlights our students' thorough understanding of political systems and governance, demonstrating their ability to analyze and critically engage with key political concepts and real-world issues. Across all three subjects, our students continue to lead the way, demonstrating academic prowess that reflects their dedication and the quality of education they receive.
